Understanding Your Child’s Learning

Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies are the educational building blocks for academic success. A strong literature-based curriculum with an emphasis on phonics, reading, writing, mapping, and graphing, exploring and number skills are stressed to help students prepare for successful elementary school success.

Art students use a variety of mediums and processes to interpret what they lean about the fundamentals of artistic expression – clay plaster, wire, wood, tempera, watercolor, chalk, and charcoal are some of the mediums they use.

In Drama and Role-Playing, children learn the fundamentals of theatre production and stage performance using costumes, props, stories, music, and skits.

Our Horticulture curriculum helps children learn about plants, insects, and gardening as they plan and tend their vegetable garden.

In Music classes, children are introduced to the basics of music, performance, musical instruments, sign language, and rhythmic movement.

Character Education forms a foundation for building lifetime relationships. Students learn to take turns, share, respect differences, and build friendships – skills that will help them prepare for future success.

Students develop gross motor skills, coordination and balance in Physical Fitness by using a variety of exercises, equipment, and skills to train and develop the muscles of the body. The fundamentals of team and individual sports are also stressed and reinforced.
